Privacy Policy

Effective: July 8, 2026

Short version: Calex is local-first, does not run ads, does not track you across apps or websites, and does not sell personal data. Audio, transcripts, summaries, todos, and settings stay on your device unless you choose features that send content to a speech-to-text or AI provider.

1. What Calex stores on your device

Calex may store recordings, transcripts, summaries, decisions, todos, dashboard history, app settings, model preferences, widget state, and diagnostic state on your device so the app can provide meeting notes and daily review features.

2. Microphone, recordings, and Always Listen

Calex uses the microphone only after you grant permission and start a recording or Always Listen session. You can stop listening from the app, and iOS shows the system microphone indicator while audio capture is active.

You can delete local Calex data from the app or by deleting the app from your device.

3. Optional speech and AI providers

Some transcription, summarization, and model features may require a speech-to-text or large language model provider selected or configured by you. When those features are used, audio, transcript text, prompts, summaries, or related metadata may be sent directly to that provider to complete the requested task.

Those providers process data under their own privacy policies and account terms. Calex does not operate a separate server that stores your meeting content.

4. Calendar, notifications, and widgets

If you enable calendar-related workflows, Calex may read calendar metadata needed to connect notes to your schedule. Notification and widget data are used to show recording state, reminders, and recent summaries on your device.

5. Analytics, advertising, and tracking

6. Data sharing

Calex does not share your personal data with third parties except when you explicitly use features that require an external provider, export/share content yourself, or where required by law.

7. Security

Calex uses platform security features available on Apple devices, including app sandboxing and system permission prompts. You should review the privacy and retention settings of any external speech or AI provider you connect to Calex.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated as Calex evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
